Service

Last year our club donated over $11,000 to support children, families in need, mental health initiatives and high school seniors.

Our efforts to support our community are reflected in our volunteer hours spent running water stations during the Cosley Zoo Run, collecting canned food items for the Milton Township Food Pantry, providing snack packs for Ronald McDonald house and birthday items for students in local elementary schools, as well as running our Buddy Baseball program.

Each year, the Wheaton Junior Woman’s Club selects two community service partners through an application and member-vote process. We support these organizations throughout the club year both financially and through dedicated service projects to create a lasting, meaningful impact in our local community.

Located in the heart of Wheaton, DoodleBug Workshop is a vocational training center "Changing Lives One Tool at a Time"  for participants with disabilities ages 16–60+. Under the mentorship of skilled volunteers—including retired woodshop teachers and veterans—participants learn to safely use hand and power tools to create wood and metal products sold to the public. This customized training allows makers to develop practical skills at their own pace, fostering independence and confidence through hands-on craftsmanship.

Bridge Communities partners with families and their children, providing stable housing and transformational support so they are empowered to overcome homelessness and thrive for generations to come. We go deep with each family member to address the underlying causes of homelessness and break the cycle of poverty, homelessness, and abuse. Our program works: a 30-year longitudinal study revealed that at least 86% of Bridge graduates never fell back into homelessness, and 85% stay in DuPage County. They are our neighbors, co-workers, and kids’ classmates; together, we are making our community better for everyone.
